Reservoir Dogs
Reservoir Dogs is a wild crime heist movie. The plot is simple. Six criminals who don’t know each other well regroup at a warehouse after an armed robbery gone wrong. There they conclude that one of them is a rat and must have tipped off the police. Paranoid they all begin to turn on one another. The ensemble cast of unnamed villains includes Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Steve Buscemi, Michael Madsen, Chris Penn, and Laurence Tierney.
All the actors do great work in giving their characters life and conveying the urgency and severity of the situation they find themselves in. Harvey Keitel as the fiercely loyal Mr. White, Tim Roth as the severely injured Mr. Orange, Steve Buscemi as the extremely paranoid Mr. Pink and Michael Madsen as the sadistic psychopathic Mr. Blonde.
Reservoir Dogs is an intense crime drama. Director Quentin Tarantino uses separate flashbacks to show how each member’s involvement in the heist originated. Like most Tarantino films the dialogue is fascinating and while it’s not the most realistic it is very lively. It comprises of lewd anecdotes, heated exchanges, petty bickering, and cycles of accusations. The movie shows the lowest forms of criminals ruthless, backstabbing people who will step on each other to survive.
